The outgoing Vice-Chancellor of Babcock University, Prof. Ademola Tayo, has urged leaders at all levels to prioritise integrity as a foundation for good governance.
Speaking at the launch of a 400-page biography in his honour, Tayo recounted instances where he resisted attempts to compromise university rules, including a bribery attempt by a parent.
The book “Ademola S. Tayo: The Unlikely and Creditable Vice-Chancellor” celebrates Tayo’s 10 years of transformative leadership, highlighting values such as accountability, fairness, prudence, and service. He stressed that integrity prevents fund diversion, fosters development, and encourages ethical leadership.
Tayo also shared personal experiences, emphasising that godliness, contentment, and steadfast adherence to principles guided his tenure. He lauded contributors to the biography, noting that the lessons in the book can influence credible leadership across Nigeria.
The lead author, Prof. Michael Abiodun Oni, described Tayo as a man of faith and an astute administrator. At the same time, reviewers highlighted his achievements, including clearing N16 billion in inherited debt, expanding infrastructure, and sustaining staff welfare.
