Babcock Welcomes Students from Over 20 Countries

Babcock University, formally admitted its 27th undergraduate and 16th postgraduate cohorts in a matriculation ceremony


Babcock University in Ilishan-Remo, Ogun State, has formally admitted its 27th undergraduate and 16th postgraduate cohorts in a matriculation ceremony at the main campus Amphitheatre.


The event drew students from more than 20 countries, reflecting the university’s growing international presence. Vice-Chancellor Professor Ademola Tayo described the ceremony as the start of a transformative academic journey, highlighting Babcock’s two-decade history of producing graduates in entrepreneurship, public service, and other sectors.


The ceremony emphasised institutional values such as integrity, discipline, and academic excellence. Postgraduate students were encouraged to undertake research addressing societal challenges, while the university reiterated its zero-tolerance policy for academic dishonesty, cultism, and corruption.


Senior Vice President for Academics, Professor Philemon Amanze, congratulated the students and pledged ongoing support throughout their studies. The matriculation marks the official start of the 2025 academic session for the university’s diverse student body.
