The 2025 Joint Convocation/Induction Programme of Ballsbridge University in Lagos
Graduates of Ballsbridge University were urged to pursue innovation, moral excellence, and intellectual independence as pathways to Africa’s advancement at the 2025 Joint Convocation/Induction Programme in Lagos.
Prof. Abba Joel Michael, Pro-Chancellor, described the ceremony as a celebration of academic excellence and resilience, while urging faculty and staff to continue nurturing minds that can transform society. He also commended parents and guardians for their support.
Keynote speaker Dr Ezeogu Kayode Chukwuemeka stressed Africa’s need for original thought, warning that reliance on recycled ideas hinders development.
He encouraged graduates to generate solutions rooted in African realities and culture, and to leverage technologies such as artificial intelligence to drive progress. “Do not get enough education to get a job. Get enough knowledge to open up your own generation,” he said.
The ceremony also honoured outstanding individuals with honorary doctorates. It celebrated 11 PhD, 19 MSc, and 36 BSc graduates across disciplines, including Cybersecurity Law, Public Health, Transport and Logistics, Electrical Electronics Engineering, and Entrepreneurship.
