Bells University of Technology, Ota, has formalised a far-reaching partnership with the Academy of Innovative Research, Science and Technological Development (AcIRSTD), aimed at boosting research output, strengthening academic-industry linkages, and fostering innovation across disciplines. The collaboration was sealed with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on June 11, 2025, by Professor Jeremiah O. Ojediran, Vice-Chancellor of Bells University, and Professor B.I., President General of AcIRSTD. Akin-Ogunsaki.
The agreement sets the stage for long-term cooperation between the two institutions in key areas, including joint research initiatives, entrepreneurship development, academic exchanges, and the commercialisation of research findings. Speaking at the signing ceremony, Professor Ojediran described the partnership as a strategic move to strengthen the university’s research and innovation ecosystem. “This alliance aligns with our vision to drive environmental sustainability and industry-relevant technological advancement. It also positions Bells University as a catalyst for knowledge that addresses real-world challenges,” he said.
Also present at the event were senior officials from both institutions, including the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Bells University, Professor Akunnaya Pearl Opoko; the Registrar, Mr. Lamidi S. Tafa; the AcIRSTD Executive Director of Partnerships and Linkages, Professor B. Akinsanya; and the AcIRSTD Registrar, Professor Ruth Inaolaji. The MoU outlines a broad scope of collaborative activities, such as the hosting of joint symposia, staff and student exchange programmes, collaborative publications, and the development of professional and distance learning courses. It also aims to attract local and international research funding to support high-impact projects.
AcIRSTD, a subsidiary of the International Association of Research Scholars and Administrators (IARSA), establishes an extensive global network of institutions and researchers, thereby expanding the university’s reach within the global academic and research communities. With this partnership, Bells University of Technology continues to reinforce its role as a leading private technological institution committed to advancing innovative research and sustainable development in Nigeria and beyond.
