The Benue State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), in partnership with the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), has commenced a four-day training workshop to assist teachers in utilising digital tools for effective teaching.
The programme, taking place at Government College, Makurdi, is titled “STRIDE and SPRINT” and is focused on helping teachers become more confident in using technology for classroom learning. Dr Grace Adagba, the Executive Chairman of SUBEB, stated that the training will equip teachers with the digital skills necessary to deliver effective instruction and prepare students for a modern, global learning environment. She described it as a timely and important move for education in the state.
Dr Adagba also thanked Governor Hyacinth Alia for supporting basic education, especially his plan to build digital libraries in schools across the state. She said this move will help Benue students compete with others around the world through improved learning standards.
