Cryptocurrency exchange Bitget has held a training session in Lagos to educate investors on blockchain technology, digital assets and access to global stocks through tokenisation.
The firm said the programme, named Lagos Community Education Day, combined lectures and live demonstrations on how blockchains operate, how to secure funds, and how to use trading tools such as spot, futures and copy trading.
A key focus was the introduction of tokenised stocks and real-world assets, which allow Nigerian users to gain exposure to companies such as Tesla and Microsoft via a blockchain-based platform.
“By creating spaces like this in Lagos, we give communities practical tools to navigate blockchain from the right sources, from wallets and payments to opportunities in global stocks and ETFs; education is at the heart of our mission,” said Bitget’s Chief Operating Officer, Vugar Usi Zade.
He added, “The turnout shows how eager Nigerians are to bridge traditional finance with Web3 innovation. It was a day of learning and networking.”
The Lagos event follows similar sessions in Nairobi, Johannesburg and Addis Ababa, which the firm says are aimed at demystifying digital finance for young Africans.
