Bayero University, Kano (BUK) Female Handball Team defeated Government Girls Arabic Secondary School (GGASS), Tudun Murtala, 15–5 in a friendly match held on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at the Old Campus Sports Complex.
The encounter served as part of BUK’s preparations for the upcoming Nigerian University Games Association (NUGA) preliminaries, scheduled to hold from October 27 to 31 at Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology, Wudil.
After a closely contested first half that ended 5-4, BUK dominated the second half, showing superior strength. Achujbiat from the Faculty of Communication led the scoring charge, with support from teammates Fatima, Blessing, Florence, and Lola. Goalkeeper Elizabeth was outstanding, keeping the opposition’s chances to a minimum.
Head Coach, Auwalu Dankano, commended his players’ performance and praised the GGASS team for their resilience. He also encouraged the secondary school students to prioritise their studies, assuring them that BUK remains open for their academic pursuits in the future.
