Four years after vanishing, Shafiu Auwal Ibrahim, a former undergraduate at Bayero University Kano (BUK), has been located, living with an Islamic cleric in Kaduna.
Shafiu, originally from Janbulo, Kano, disappeared in 2021, leaving his parents, relatives, and friends in prolonged distress. After years of searching and fearing the worst, his family eventually halted their efforts.
Recently, the family resumed their search and discovered Shafiu in a Kaduna village under the care of a cleric. According to a relative, the cleric said Shafiu initially appeared mentally unstable when first found.
The family expressed relief and joy, confirming that Shafiu has returned home, healthy and calm.
