Babcock University, in partnership with the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN), has commissioned the Bankers Hall, a 160-seater fully digitalised facility designed to advance banking education in Nigeria.
The event, held on August 28 at the university’s main campus, attracted dignitaries, including CIBN President Prof. Pius Olanrewaju, Ogun State Commissioner for Transport, Engr. Olugbenga Dairo, and Oba Mojeed Sonuga, Olofin of Ilishan.
Prof. Olanrewaju described the hall as a “game-changer” that will provide young people, women, and underrepresented groups with access to high-quality banking training in a collaborative environment. The CIBN president called it a “vibrant hub where ideas are cultivated, skills are honed, and leaders of tomorrow are equipped to navigate the evolving financial landscape.”
Babcock University’s Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ademola Tayo, devoted a significant portion of his speech to praising the partnership, highlighting its impact on financial literacy, professional development, and institutional infrastructure. CIBN Registrar/CEO, Mr. Akin Morakinyo, stressed that despite the challenges in the economy, CIBN was committed to excellence and professionalism in the banking sector.
Oba Sonuga commended the partnership, adding that such a welcome initiative will contribute to community development and academic excellence among Babcock students.
