Dr. Boboye Oyeyemi, inaugurated as CILT 21st president and chairman of council
The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) Nigeria has inaugurated Dr Boboye Oyeyemi, OFR, mni, NPOM, FCILT, as its 21st president and chairman of council.
The ceremony took place on November 27, 2025, at the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs, Victoria Island, Lagos, with industry leaders, government officials, and members in attendance.
Dr Oyeyemi, former Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps, succeeds Barrister Mrs Mfon Usoro, FCILT, whose tenure was marked by growth in membership and institutional compliance.
The event was chaired by former Lagos State Governor Raji Fashola, SAN, CON, with Nobel Laureate Professor Wole Soyinka as Special Guest of Honour.
In his inaugural address, themed “Building on Our Legacies, Uniting Every Member, and Positioning CILT Nigeria as a Global Force in Transport and Logistics,” Dr Oyeyemi launched “Project 2027,” a legislative initiative to secure formal recognition of CILT Nigeria as the national regulatory body for logistics and transport.
His agenda includes boosting membership by 60 per cent, doubling corporate participation, establishing a Road Transport Sector Council, revitalising the Digital Academy, introducing a national mentorship scheme, and driving digital transformation.
Dr Oyeyemi stressed that CILT Nigeria must lead sectoral transformation rather than remain a spectator, building on its six-decade legacy in Nigeria’s logistics, transport, and supply chain sectors.
