Dr Smart Olugbeko, the President of the Colleges of Education Academic Staff Union (COEASU), has applauded the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) for its performance under its leader, Arc. Sonny Echono.
Olugbeko gave the commendation during a student visit to appreciate the body for its role in getting the Federal Government’s approval of the Dual Mandate for Colleges of Education, which grants colleges the power to award degree certificates. Comrade Ahmed Akande, the students’ spokesperson, appreciated COEASU for making this happen and urged the union to see that the Federal Government pays students monthly stipends for their teaching practice, like their colleagues in medicine and engineering.
