Mohammed Bello, Registrar, Computer Professionals (Registration Council of Nigeria, CPN)
The Computer Professionals Registration Council of Nigeria (CPN) has charged newly inducted computing professionals to uphold integrity, professionalism, and innovation in their careers. The directive was delivered by the Registrar, Mohammed Bello, during the second induction ceremony for 47 graduates and seven staff members of Wellspring University recently.
Represented at the event by Elizabeth Adekunle, Bello urged the inductees to leverage their skills for national development and global relevance.
“Today’s ceremony marks your transition from academic pursuit to full professional recognition under the CPN,” he said.
Vice-Chancellor Prof Isaac Ajayi congratulated the inductees and reminded them that computing is a calling to serve humanity with diligence and ethical responsibility. Dean of the College of Science and Computing, Prof. Faith Oviasogie, encouraged graduates to build systems that uplift communities and bridge knowledge with transformation.
Acting Head of Computing, Dr Tosin Olayinka, stressed that the induction signifies professional accountability, while Sonia Uwaila Eboigbodin, the best graduating student, described it as a “defining moment” in their career.
In her lecture, Prof Veronica Osunbor highlighted the need for technological competence to foster community, stating: “Our assignment today is not just to keep up with technology, but to connect it with humanity.”
