The Digital Bridge Institute (DBI) has begun training about 10,000 workers from Nigerian universities, polytechnics, and other tertiary institutions to boost their digital literacy skills.
In a statement, DBI’s Head of Public Affairs, Soji-Eze Fagbemi, said the programme is part of the 2025 Advance Digital Empowerment Programme for Tertiary Institutions (ADEPTI). Each of the 100 participating institutions will have 100 staff members trained.
The training, fully sponsored by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), commenced at the University of Ilesa, Osun State, with other centres located at the Nigerian Army University, Biu (Borno State), the Rivers State School of Nursing Sciences and Management Technology, Port Harcourt, and the Federal University, Birnin-Kebbi.
According to DBI, the initiative will help lecturers and administrators adopt and implement ICT tools in teaching and research, thereby strengthening the capacity of Nigerian tertiary institutions to deliver quality education in a digital era.
