The Ebonyi State University has expelled three students who were arrested in September for allegedly possessing guns and attacking the Dean of Student Affairs.
The students were said to have shot into the crowd during the recent Students’ Union Government election, hitting one student.
Condemning the students’ actions, Prof. Michael Awoke, the Vice-Chancellor (VC) of the institution, warned, “This issue of coming to the University environment with guns must stop.”
The vice-chancellor noted that the expelled students had been presented before the court, and their case will serve as a warning to others.
