Educationist Explores Emotional Intelligence Training

Olubunmi Mercy Odiaka, an educationist, is currently researching how emotional intelligence can improve learning outcomes in early childhood settings.

Her adventure into early childhood settings and teacher training began with her observation of students’ challenges with speech clarity, classrooms lacking emotional awareness, and teachers’ difficulties in teaching phonics. Odiaka also focused on helping teachers manage their students and stress, working with educators, schools, and students to bridge the gap in classroom communication, child psychology, and foundational literacy. To improve education, she has extended her solutions beyond lectures to include classroom simulations, pronunciation drills, and emotional intelligence workshops.
