Nigerian Agip Exploration (NAE), a subsidiary of Italian energy company Eni, has awarded postgraduate scholarships to 30 Nigerian graduates under its 2025/2026 scheme.
Ten of the beneficiaries will study in universities abroad. At the same time, the remaining awardees will pursue postgraduate degrees in Nigerian institutions across disciplines, including engineering, geosciences, petroleum and environmental technology, energy economics, renewable energy and energy transition.
Speaking at the award ceremony in Abuja, NAE Vice Chairman and Managing Director Fabrizio Bolondi said the scheme reflected the company’s commitment to education and capacity building. He urged the awardees to use the opportunity to acquire skills that would benefit the country, particularly in the energy industry.
The scheme, run in partnership with NNPC Limited through the NNPC-NAE Production Sharing Contract, was launched in 2007 to address the skills gap in specialised fields relevant to deep offshore oil and gas operations. So far, 350 graduates have benefited.
NAE, incorporated in 1996, manages Eni’s deep offshore exploration and production assets in Nigeria. Eni also operates in the country through Agip Energy and Natural Resources, with interests in offshore blocks and a stake in Nigerian LNG.
