Students of the National Association of Electrical and Electronics Engineering Students (NAEEES) at the University of Ilorin have donated furniture to their departmental library to support learning.
The items, handed over on September 24, include a 14-seater cubicle desk and six chairs. The Acting Head of Department, Dr O. Ibrahim, was represented by Prof. A. R. Zubair and Dr A. O. Otuoze, who praised the students’ initiative, describing it as an example that others should follow.
Dr Ibrahim also donated e-books to the library, saying the contributions would enrich the department’s resources and create a more conducive study environment.
The departmental president, Comrade Sulaimon Muhammed, and final-year class representative, Sufiyan Ozovehe Mamman, led the project. Muhammed, speaking on behalf of the Class of 2025, thanked his colleagues for their support and urged younger students to sustain the culture of giving back.
He stated that the donation was intended to benefit both current and future learners, while also enhancing the department’s academic reputation. The event was attended by departmental staff, student executives and final-year students.
