Class of ’78 of African Church Teachers’ College, Epinmi, Marks Anniversary

The Epinmi Teachers’ College Class of 1978 recently celebrated the anniversary of their admission into the college on September 6, 1975, in Epinmi, Akoko, Ondo State.

The celebration attracted dignitaries, including the Gbirimojo of Epinmi, Oba Ayodele Idris; the school’s principal, Mr Femi Akerele; religious leaders; and representatives from other alumni classes.

Elder Benjamin Olukayode Adewumi, National President of the Class of ’78, in his keynote address, reflected on the discipline and moral foundation the college instilled, while urging classmates to maintain health and well-being, as many are now retired.

Alhaji Jimoh Akadiri, Chairman of the event’s planning committee, praised the celebrants’ disciplined background and acknowledged their generous contributions, which made the event memorable.

The alumni also paid a courtesy visit to the town’s monarch, who expressed gratitude and recognised the college’s role in their careers.

The Class of ’78 includes retired head teachers, university professors, chartered professionals, and former directors of education. The day featured dances, poems, jokes, and reminiscences, serving as a precursor to their Golden Jubilee celebration in 2028.
