A faith-based organisation, Sisters of Jannah, Abuja Zone, has paid school fees and donated writing materials to 60 students of Junior Government Day Secondary School, Bapuma, in the Bwari Area Council of the FCT.
Hajia Akinlade Fadilat, the coordinator of the group, stated that the gesture was intended to alleviate the burden on struggling parents amid Nigeria’s harsh economic realities. She noted that education support is a vital way of contributing to national development.
Over the years, the organisation has carried out various outreaches, including assistance to cancer patients, nursing mothers, and children in hospitals. Fadilat urged well-meaning Nigerians to also channel resources into helping the less privileged, stressing that many families cannot afford basic needs.
She maintained that investing in children’s education is an investment in the nation’s future, as it prepares young people to become tomorrow’s leaders. The initiative further strengthens community support for education in the FCT.
