The Federal Ministry of Health has denied a viral video claiming that Health Minister, Prof. Muhammad Ali Pate, announced a free nationwide cure for diabetes. In a statement, the ministry described the video as fake, saying no such drug had been announced or approved for free distribution. It explained that the video used altered clips from a Channels TV news report and edited footage of the minister’s appearances to spread false information.
The ministry’s spokesperson, Alaba Balogun, said the government is working with NAFDAC, the Police, and the National Broadcasting Commission to find those behind the false claims and take action. He urged Nigerians to rely only on credible and verified sources for health information, warning against believing online rumours. Balogun assured the public that the ministry remains committed to real healthcare solutions for the well-being of all Nigerians.
