260 Army Officers Sit for Senior Staff Course Qualifying Examination

The Nigerian Army says 260 middle cadre officers are taking the 2025 Senior Staff Course Qualifying Examination.

The examination, which began on Sunday, is being held at the Nigerian Army Infantry Corps Centre, Ihejirika Auditorium, in Jaji Military Cantonment, Kaduna State. It is organised by the Training and Doctrine Command of the Army. President of the Examination Board, Maj.-Gen. Kelvin Aligbe said the test is designed to measure the officers’ determination, skills, and knowledge in areas like tactics, low-intensity conflict, geopolitics, and military law.

He stressed the need for integrity and transparency in the process, warning against malpractice. Officers must score at least 50 per cent in all subjects to qualify for the Senior Staff Course at the Armed Forces Command and Staff College. Aligbe noted that the results would determine future leadership within the Army and promised the process would be based on merit and fairness.
