Kabiru Akinyemi, a professor of microbiology, has urged the federal government (FG) to educate citizens on drug misuse.
He made the call at the 112th Lagos State University (LASU) Inaugural Lecture Series, themed “Itsy Bitsy Animacules In Our Lives: An Unending War And Survival Strategies.”
In his speech, he elaborated that the masses should be educated on the effects of drug misuse, and a public campaign should be held about refuse disposal and sewage methods.
The federal government is already taking similar steps toward drug issues by introducing drug education in secondary schools and drug tests in universities.
