The Federal Government (FG) has said it is reviewing the report of a committee set up to draft the structure for changing Yaba College of Technology into a University of Technology and Vocational Studies.
According to government officials, the development is a significant step toward aligning the institution with international models that prioritise technical research and innovation.
The Ministry of Education has stated that the recommendations under review cover curriculum expansion, admission structure, research priorities, staffing requirements, and industry partnerships.
Government sources also added that the review aligns with national plans to improve technological manpower and support industries that need employees with vocational skills.
