Federal Government, World Bank Kick Off Training

Mr. Olumide Adeleye, the Founder of Twim Institute

The federal government (FG) has partnered with the World Bank to launch a training initiative aimed at improving Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in Nigeria.

The training commenced on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, under the Innovation Development and Effectiveness in the Acquisition of Skills (IDEAS) Project at the Twim Institute in Ibadan. Mr Olumide Adeleye, the Founder of Twim Institute, in his remarks, said the training shows the need to equip Nigerian youths for the possibilities ahead.

“This youthful population is a potential strength, but only if young people are equipped with the skills the modern economy demands. Otherwise, what should be a demographic dividend could become a global crisis.”

Mr Akintunde Babarinde, the National Project Coordinator of the IDEAS Project, was represented by Mrs Blessing Ogwu, the Procurement Consultant, who added that skill acquisition is crucial for global competitiveness.
