Federal Polytechnic Wannune Opens Application for Polytechnic Librarian Position

The Federal Polytechnic, Wannune, Benue State, has announced the commencement of applications for the position of Polytechnic Librarian, which will become vacant on March 16 2026.

In a statement signed by the Registrar and Secretary to Council, Dr Muhammad Ndas Ndaeji, the institution said the post is open to qualified internal and external candidates with a strong background in library management and academic leadership.

According to the statement, the Polytechnic Librarian serves as the Chief Library Officer of the institution and is responsible to the Rector for the administration of the Polytechnic Library and coordination of library services across academic units.

Applicants must hold a Master’s degree in Library Science or Library and Information Science from a recognised institution, while possession of a PhD is considered an added advantage. Candidates are also required to have at least 18 years of cognate experience in tertiary institutions, 10 of which must have been in a polytechnic or related TVET institution.

The statement added that applicants must currently hold the rank of Chief Librarian, have at least five years of experience in that position, be proficient in ICT, and be under the age of 59 as of March 2026.

The appointment, it noted, is for a single five-year tenure with a consolidated salary and other benefits applicable to principal officers of federal polytechnics.
