Coderina Education and Technology Foundation, NUC, hosted the Grand Finale of the Coderina University Challenge 2025
The Coderina Education and Technology Foundation has partnered with the National Universities Commission (NUC) to host the Grand Finale of the Coderina University Challenge (COUCH) 2025.
Themed ‘Circular Economy Through Technology,’ the challenge explored the capacity of Nigerian university students to develop tech-enabled solutions to address national issues in the circular economy, waste management, energy transition, and sustainability.
Delivering his address at the event, Mr Olufemi Niyi, Chairman of the Coderina Board of Directors, emphasised that university projects should not be relegated to the archives.
The chairman urged private-sector stakeholders, development partners, and donors to support COUCH as a sustainable national innovation channel, calling on investors to allocate resources to skills development and youth technology innovation.
In the same vein, Dr Kingsley Tochukwu, the Minister of Innovation, Science, and Technology, commended the COUCH, noting that it represents the type of collaboration and commercialisation Nigeria needs to tap into its scientific and technological capacity.
