The Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Education, Zaria (FUEZ), Prof. Isa Yahaya Bunkure, has chaired his first Academic Board and Management Meetings since assuming office.
He was introduced to the board by Deputy Vice Chancellor, Dr Suleiman Balarabe, who described the body as the highest authority on academic matters, made up of deans, directors, heads of departments, and senior lecturers.
In his address, Prof. Bunkure thanked the university community for the warm reception and pledged to run an inclusive administration. He described himself as a “colleague and partner in progress. He also promised to listen to constructive ideas while rejecting hearsay and divisive politics.
The Vice Chancellor emphasised his commitment to transforming FUEZ into a model university and urged the Academic Board to provide full cooperation. The new Vice-Chancellor assured staff that his leadership would prioritise progress and development rather than intimidation or personal interests.
