FULafia Students Donate Solar Street Lights to Boost Community Security

FULafia Students and Beneficiaries of Solar Street Lights

The Students’ Representative Council (SRC) of the Federal University of Lafia (FULafia) recently donated 45 solar-powered street lights to communities surrounding the university to enhance security. The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Shehu Abdul Rahman, attended the event at the Take-Off Site Campus and thanked the SRC for the donation, especially in areas where students live. He said the lights would help keep everyone safe.

Represented by the Dean of Student Affairs, Prof. Abdulrazaq Baba Abdulrahman, the Vice-Chancellor praised the SRC’s efforts to support security in the university and its surrounding communities. He urged students to stay alert and protect their environment. The SRC President, Comrade Salisu Abdullahi Maiyaki, stated that the lights would be installed in strategic locations, including Mararraba, Akunza, Bukan Kwato, Gandu, and near the Paradise Hotel. The project aims to make these places safer for students and residents. Community members and university staff also attended the event.
