FULafia Vice-Chancellor Denies School Fee Increase

The Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Lafia (FULafia), Professor Shehu Abdul Rahman, has dismissed rumours of a planned increase in tuition fees, assuring students that the institution has no such intention.

He gave the assurance while receiving the Students’ Union Government (SUG) led by its president, Comrade Ishaq Abubakar Ishaq. Prof. Abdul Rahman described the reports of a fee hike as “mere speculations” and urged students to ignore them and remain focused on their studies.

The Vice-Chancellor also encouraged the SUG to sensitise students on the dangers of examination malpractice, warning that the institution would not compromise its academic standards. He further advised the union to work closely with the university’s Directorate of Information and the Department of Mass Communication to improve communication on campus.

On his part, Comrade Ishaq pledged the union’s support for policies that would strengthen FULafia’s reputation and commended management for prioritising students with special needs.
