Fulbright Alumni Association of Nigeria (FAAN) during the its 20th Annual Conference and 25th Anniversary celebration
Nigerian Fulbright Scholars have implored the federal government (FG) to invest more in international educational exchange programmes.
According to them, the programmes have immense capacity to facilitate global cooperation, knowledge transfer, and national development.
The scholars made this known at the 20th Annual Conference and 25th Anniversary of the Fulbright Alumni Association of Nigeria (FAAN), themed “Nigeria–US Relations in Tertiary Education Development: History, Milestones and Possibilities.”
Prof. Francis Nwosu, FAAN President, while delivering his address, encouraged the federal government to incorporate the Fulbright framework into national human capital development policies. He stressed that the programme addresses academic migration and promotes the sustainability of knowledge transfer.
Highlighting the contributions of the programme, he said that it has trained hundreds of Nigerian academics and improved the country’s tertiary institutions with excellence, patriotism, and a human-centred approach to education.
