FUNAAB Shines at 2025 TETFUND TETFAIRINNOV8 programme
The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) has been recognised as one of the top three institutions with the best pitch decks at the 2025 TETFUND TETFAIRINNOV8 Programme closing ceremony.
The achievement reflects the University’s growing strength in research, innovation, and practical solutions in agriculture. Team members credited the success to the support of Vice-Chancellor Professor Babatunde Kehinde and Professor Mutiu Busari, Director of the Directorate of Research, Innovations and Partnerships (DRIP), who guided the team throughout the year-long innovation cycle.
The FUNAAB team consisted of Professor Akinola Popoola, Head of the Department of Crop Protection and team lead; Dr Caroline Filani, also from the Department of Crop Protection; and Dr Chioma Adekunle from the Department of Agricultural Economics and Farm Management. Their project, presented through a detailed pitch deck, impressed judges for its clarity, innovation, and potential impact on Nigeria’s agricultural sector.
The recognition at TETFUND’s flagship innovation fair highlights FUNAAB’s commitment to fostering research-driven solutions and nurturing talent capable of addressing national development challenges. It also reinforces the University’s position as a leading centre for agricultural innovation in Nigeria.
