The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) has prohibited the use of “drop” services, hired cabs or tricycles for personal transport—during peak morning hours.
The Students’ Union Government (SUG) issued the directive in response to concerns over congestion and long queues at campus transport points, which have caused delays and frustration among students.
The SUG said the ban is aimed at ensuring a smoother and more orderly movement of students across the campus. It is being enforced in collaboration with the Nigeria Safety Cadet, FUNAAB command, which will monitor key junctions to ensure compliance.
Students are advised to arrive early at transport parks, particularly those with 9:00 a.m. lectures, to secure rides. The SUG appealed for cooperation, stressing that the measure is intended to improve campus transport efficiency and reduce bottlenecks during busy hours.
