The Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, has reaffirmed his commitment to continuous training and capacity building for all categories of staff, including drivers, mechanics, and vehicle operators, whom he described as “critical stakeholders” in the University.
The Vice-Chancellor disclosed this today, June 30, 2025, while declaring open a 4-Day Capacity Building Workshop on Safety, Maintenance and Ethics, themed: “Defensive and Safety Driving Techniques and Maintenance with Good Work Ethics/Attitudes for Government Motor Drivers and Mechanics,” held at the Prof. Oluwafemi Balogun Ceremonial Building. The training, organised by Lizzy Oyinlola Consult, a certified Automobile Engineering and Training Firm based in Abeokuta, aimed to equip participants with modern safety and maintenance skills, as well as instil professional ethics required for effective service delivery. According to the Vice-Chancellor, the importance of drivers and mechanics in the day-to-day running of the University cannot be overstated, noting that their responsibilities directly affect the image, operations, and overall productivity of the University
