Prof. Adenike Oladiji, the Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), has encouraged undergraduates with an interest in agriculture to create innovative solutions that make farming more manageable and profitable.
She said, “Innovation in farming is not merely a choice; it is an imperative. By harnessing the power of innovation, we can ensure food security, promote sustainability, and build a more resilient agricultural sector.”
According to her, achieving these is only possible through incentives from the government and other stakeholders.
The Vice-Chancellor added that the students can leverage the University’s vegetable production centre to gain new methods of green pepper production.
