Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu, the Director-General (DG) of the National Youths Service Corps (NYSC), has applauded Peter Mbah, Enugu State Governor, for increasing the monthly allowance of corps members serving in the state to ₦20,000.
Lloyd Ekweremadu, the state’s commissioner for youth and sports, said the corps members who are doctors are already being paid ₦80,000, nurses receive ₦40,000, while others will start receiving ₦20,000 soon.
The DG also praised the governor for the current renovation of the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Awgu. Responding, Mbah stated that his administration will finish the camp’s reconstruction within a short time.
