Following the approval of ₦912 million by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano state for the conversion of the Vocational Training School at Unguwar Riga, Gwarzo, into a Government Technical College, an inspection team made up of engineers and officials from the state Ministry of Education has visited Gwarzo Local Government Area to kick-start the project.
According to the Ministry, the new college will feature modern classrooms, fully furnished student hostels, state-of-the-art laboratories, and staff residential quarters. The facilities are expected to provide a conducive teaching and learning environment, while significantly raising the standard of technical education in the area.
Speaking during the delegation’s visit, Dr Mani Tsoho, Chairman of Gwarzo Local Government, described the development as a milestone achievement. He noted that the project would not only benefit the people of Gwarzo but also strengthen Kano State’s position as a hub of educational excellence. Tsoho further assured that the local government would fully cooperate with the state to ensure the timely execution and effective monitoring of the project.
