The President of the MAAUN Group of Universities, Professor Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo, has dismissed reports that he sold the Canadian University of Nigeria, Abuja, to foreign investors for $50 million.
Speaking at the opening of the Africa Entrepreneurship Summit in Luanda, Angola, on Thursday, Gwarzo described the claims as false. He stressed that the allegations were a deliberate attempt to undermine his decades of contributions to education in Nigeria and beyond.
Gwarzo, the founder of four private universities, including the Maryam Abacha American University of Niger (Maradi), Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria (Kano), Franco-British International University (Kaduna), and Canadian University of Nigeria (Abuja), called on the public to disregard the reports.
He reaffirmed his commitment to building stronger educational institutions across Nigeria and Africa.
