Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has been awarded an Honorary Doctorate Degree (PhD Honoris Causa) by the University of Port Harcourt, in recognition of his outstanding leadership and public service.
Hon. Salihu Mohammed (Abba Girei), a revered grassroots politician and former member of the House of Representatives, hailed the honour as a “fitting tribute” to a leader whose vision has redefined governance in Adamawa. The ceremony, attended by an illustrious gathering of academic luminaries, government officials, traditional rulers, and community leaders from across Nigeria, was a testament to Governor Fintiri’s far-reaching impact.
The University of Port Harcourt, one of Nigeria’s premier institutions, lauded Fintiri for his bold initiatives in education, healthcare, infrastructure, and youth empowerment, which have positioned Adamawa as a beacon of progress in the North-East. Governor Fintiri is a faithful servant of the people, whose policies have transformed lives from Yola to the remotest parts of Adamawa, a testament to his relentless dedication, which has earned him national recognition. The event was marked by colourful academic processions and heartfelt tributes to the governor’s reputation as a faithful servant of the people.
