Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University (IBBU), Lapai, has launched its 2025 promotion assessment for senior non-teaching staff, covering positions on CONTISS levels 9 to 14.
The exercise was officially opened at the e-Library of the Abubakar Gimba Library Complex by the Registrar, Alhaji Idris Sale Kusherki, on behalf of Vice-Chancellor Prof. Muhammad Hadi Sulaiman. Alhaji Kusherki described the initiative as part of the university’s commitment to merit-based advancement and staff development.
He said the assessment aims to recognise professionalism, dedication, and competence, while ensuring fairness and transparency in promotions. “This exercise is a vital platform for staff to demonstrate readiness for higher responsibilities,” he added.
Staff on CONTISS 14, the highest level in the assessment, are required to participate in an oral interview to evaluate their suitability for promotion. The university emphasised that the process is designed to identify capable personnel for leadership roles within the administration and to reinforce a culture of excellence across the institution.
The promotion exercise reflects IBBU’s broader efforts to support staff growth, reward performance, and maintain institutional efficiency in line with national standards for higher education administration.
