Dignitaries at the Agroween Recognition Awards (ARA) 2025
Intergenerational Rescue Foundation Inc. has collaborated with the Social Work Department of the University of Lagos (UNILAG) to organise Agroween 2025 and the ARA Awards.
The event welcomed several academics who addressed the current security issues and suggested solutions to improve agriculture in the country.
While delivering his keynote speech, titled ‘Sowing the Seed of Innovation: Geographic Perspective on Sustainable Agriculture,’ Vide Adedayo, a Professor of Food and Agricultural Geography from UNILAG, emphasised that food security is not limited to availability.
He elaborated that it revolves around “access to adequate, safe, and nutritious food that supports a healthy life.”
In the same vein, Prof. Desmond Majekodunmi, an environmental scholar and Founder of the Lekki Conservation Centre, warned that climate change and increased insecurity can affect food security in the country.
