Comrade Adedeji Owoeye, Chairman of Alumni Association of the UNILAG
The Alumni Association of the University of Lagos (UNILAG) has said that it will honour corporate leaders and organisations who have contributed to educational development at its ‘Dinner with the Corporate World.’
Some of the prospective awardees include Dr Oyeyemi Ayoola, Hon. Moyosore Adebanjo, Mrs Funmilayo Oduwole, and Dr Olufemi Ogunsanya.
Comrade Adedeji Owoeye, the chairman of the Lagos Branch of the association, stated at a press briefing that the initiative demonstrates the association’s commitment to closing the gap in Nigeria’s education sector.
Noting that the government cannot independently solve education issues in the country, he added, “Our goal is to ensure that organisations help identify and support the fundamental needs that shape students’ daily learning experiences.”
