The inaugural Nnamdi Azikiwe’s Memorial Lecture hosted by University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN), Enugu
The University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), Enugu State, hosted the inaugural edition of Nnamdi Azikiwe’s Memorial Lecture, themed ‘The Nnamdi Azikiwe Political Philosophy: Lessons for Good Governance and Development,’ on Friday, November 14, 2025.
Analysing Azikiwe’s impact, Success Obioma Akagburuonye, a business mogul and guest speaker at the event, said, “Azikiwe’s life is not just history; it is a living blueprint for governance and development rooted in moral uprightness, national unity, and social justice.”
The guest speaker noted that Azikiwe’s philosophy centres on good governance and sustainable development, stressing that only honest, inclusive, and committed leaders can sustain them.
According to Akagburuonye, Nigeria would have averted the current economic challenges, ethnic tensions, and corruption had it adopted Azikiwe’s philosophy.
