Igbinedion University Okada (IUO), Edo State, has launched the 2025 Entrepreneurial Skills Acquisition and Employability Training Programme.
Prof. Lawrence Ikechukwu Ezemonye, the vice chancellor of the institution, spoke at the opening ceremony, mentioning that the university aims to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-life applications. Ezemonye reaffirmed, “Our goal is to cultivate a generation of thinkers who transform ideas into solutions.”
The VC stressed that “Entrepreneurship is not merely about owning a business,” but about “curiosity, creativity, and the courage to act.” He appreciated Chief (Dr.) Gabriel Osawaru Igbinedion, the founder of the tertiary institution, laid the foundation for entrepreneurial success among its students.
Dr Mary Josiah, the Director of the Sir (Dr.) David Osunde Centre for Entrepreneurship and Skills Acquisition stated that the programme was created to empower students with the skills required for identifying opportunities and addressing unemployment.
