Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Prof Is-haq Oloyede, has revealed that the board discovered over 15,000 forged admission letters used by candidates seeking mobilisation for the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).
Oloyede, who disclosed this at the Batch C pre-mobilisation workshop in Abuja, said the board had commenced prosecution of those involved. He added that 17 deputy vice-chancellors, deputy registrars and four JAMB staff are already in the custody of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).
He urged institutions and officials to uphold due process to avoid avoidable sanctions.
Meanwhile, the NYSC Director-General, Brig.-Gen. Olakunle Nafiu, also warned against forged credentials and identity theft, saying such acts threaten the credibility of the mobilisation process.
JAMB further announced that it would sanction six secondary schools for mass registration violations during the 2025 UTME. It cautioned candidates against using institutional portals for unauthorised programme changes, reiterating that all admissions must go through JAMB’s Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS).
