The Jigawa Government has pardoned 245 teachers for their negligence towards academic duties following a formal apology and a signed undertaking. Prof. Haruna Musa, Executive Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), shared this information on Monday, July 28, 2025, at a meeting convened by the Board.
The teachers whose salaries have been withheld since June, after the Board found out that they had committed civil service offences, tendered a formal apology accompanied by a signed undertaking to abide by the country’s work ethics. Musa noted that the current administration is keen on restoring dignity to education, and the era of teachers neglecting their duty is over.
