The Kogi State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Hon. Kingsley Fanwo, has given a total of N1,000,000 as education grants to Oluwi Oluseyi Matthew, who scored 337 in the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), and to the highest-scoring student in Mopamuro Local Government Area.
N500,000 was awarded to Oluseyi, while another N500,000 was set aside for whoever achieved the highest score in the area.
Hon. Fanwo announced in Lokoja that Oluseyi’s outstanding performance reflected the talent and determination found in Mopamuro.
He congratulated Oluseyi for bringing pride to the local government. He urged other students across Kogi State to follow his example by working hard and avoiding social vices such as cultism and crime.
The commissioner also promised that the grant would be paid once Oluseyi and the highest scorer submitted their admission letters.
Speaking on behalf of the KFF Foundation Family, he confirmed his commitment to supporting the state’s academic excellence.
Fanwo further praised Governor Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo for his continued efforts to improve education in Kogi State, including providing scholarships to students who scored 280 and above in the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and creating a favourable learning environment from primary to tertiary levels.
