The Kogi State Government has promised to provide quality education to people with special needs in the state. Wemi Jones, Kogi Commissioner for Education, stated this at the end-of-session party and graduation ceremony at the Lokoja School for the Deaf and Special Needs.
Jones, represented by Mrs. Omolayo Barikisu Onasare, the ministry’s acting permanent secretary, stated that the government will intensify its efforts in providing specialised training for teachers and enhance facilities. He added that every child, despite their physical abilities, deserves access to quality education. Additionally, he encouraged parents and guardians to support the education of individuals with special needs.
