KolaDaisi University, Ibadan, has pledged closer collaboration with traditional leadership in Ibadanland following a courtesy visit to the Olubadan-designate, Oba Rasheed Ladoja.
Led by Vice-Chancellor Professor Adeniyi Israel Olatubosun SAN, the university management described Oba Ladoja’s emergence as a “new dawn” for Ibadan, stressing that the institution is ready to partner with the incoming monarch in advancing education, youth empowerment, and cultural preservation.
During the visit to the former Oyo governor’s residence in Bodija, Professor Olatubosun presented a formal letter of felicitation on behalf of the university community. He said traditional rulers remained “pivotal in advancing peace, unity, and development” across Yorubaland.
Senior officials, including the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olajumoke Morenikeji, Registrar Mr Olawale Haruna Adetu, and Dean of Students’ Affairs, Professor Titiloye Oyeyinka Ojo, accompanied the Vice-Chancellor. Their presence, the university said, underscored its commitment to community engagement beyond academics.
Oba Ladoja, a respected statesman, is expected to ascend the Olubadan throne in the coming weeks, a development seen as a stabilising moment for Ibadan. The university said it looked forward to working with the traditional institution in ways that would strengthen education and preserve Ibadan’s cultural heritage.
