The Kwara State Environmental Protection Agency (KWEPA) and the Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin, have partnered to introduce a National Diploma (ND) programme in Environmental Health.
The initiative, described as a landmark step in environmental education, is aimed at equipping young Nigerians with the technical expertise to address waste management, pollution control, and broader sustainability challenges.
Speaking at the MoU signing, KWEPA General Manager, Hon. Jide Aina, said the partnership would help produce a new generation of environmental health officers. He assured that the agency would provide technical support, mentorship, and hands-on training to complement classroom instruction.
Representing the Rector, Engr. Dr. Kudabo Emmanuel Ajeigbe commended KWEPA for its foresight. He said the Polytechnic is ready to provide the academic framework, qualified faculty, and facilities for the smooth take-off of the programme.
According to him, the curriculum will strike a balance between theory and practical experience, producing graduates capable of advancing environmental health across the state and beyond.
