IBB University Announces Open Job Positions

The Governing Council of Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University (IBBU), Lapai, has announced vacancies for the positions of University Librarian and Chief Security Officer.

According to a statement signed by the Registrar and Secretary to Council, Idris Saleh Kusherki, suitably qualified candidates within and outside the institution are invited to apply for the positions.

For the post of University Librarian, applicants must hold a PhD in Library Science or Library and Information Science, with at least 15 years of relevant experience in a recognised tertiary institution and not below the rank of Deputy Librarian/Reader.

Membership of the Librarians Registration Council of Nigeria (LRCN) and proven computer proficiency are also required. The appointment is for a single five-year term, and applicants must not exceed 60 years of age at the time of application.

For the position of Chief Security Officer (CSO), candidates must possess a minimum of a good first degree or HND with at least 18 years of cognate experience in security-related roles.  Alternatively, military or police officers not below the rank of Major or Deputy Superintendent of Police, with at least 15 years’ experience, may apply.

Applicants must demonstrate integrity, discipline, and physical fitness, while prior experience in a tertiary institution is considered an advantage. The appointment is also tenured for five years, with the same age restriction of 60 years.

The application, including 25 copies of credentials, curriculum vitae, and letters of reference, is to be submitted under confidential cover to the Registrar and Secretary to Council, Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, P.M.B. 11, Lapai, Niger State, within six weeks of the announcement. The positions are effective from February 28, 2026.
